What Are You Living For?
If you live tomorrow, what will you live for? If you don’t know, read on;
We can live for ourselves or we can live for something greater. Living to please ourselves is just plain selfish and the world is filled with that! How do you feel when someone takes advantage of you? It’s definitely not the same when you take advantage of someone else. Yes, there’s that self righteousness but it’s always short lived and eager for more.
But, let’s say you don’t live tomorrow. Where will you end up? Using your knowledge will not get you the answer you need or want. Knowledge mixed with experience will allow you to understand your life is not an accident. We can explain away a lot of things but we can’t explain away our existence. Which is easier to believe, no eternity or eternity?
God made it easy but also hard to be saved and Heaven bound. Easy as believing, hard as believing something that is unbelievable. Living for yourself is a dead life and a dead end. Living for God and looking forward to actually seeing Him is a fruitful and engaging life.
“If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by openly declaring your faith that you are saved.” Romans 10:9-10 NLT
Salvation comes from pure belief that is characterized by actions. It doesn’t come through heredity or by thinking it could be true. No one is twisting your arm to believe or disbelieve. But, what is your heart saying to you? Are you empty or feel you are missing out on something?
Trusting God with your life is a lot better and easier than trusting someone else or even yourself. All God wants is obedience from you to do what is right and good. It will surprise you to find out He has more “can do” things for you to do than “don’t do” things!
For that to start in your life, admit you are lost and a sinner (lacking obedience) and that you accept what His Son, Jesus Christ did for you on the cross to pay for your disobedience. After that, begin to ask Him what He wants you to do. Find and join a Bible believing church where you can grow in your understanding and faith in God.
